How to Use the Paint Calculator
Step 1: Select Project Type. Choose between "Single Wall" (for painting one wall) or "Entire Room" (for painting all four walls).
Step 2: Choose Your Uni.t Select your preferred measurement unit: Feet or Meters.
Step 3: Enter Dimensions
- Single Wall: Enter wall length and height
- Entire Room: Enter room length, width, and ceiling height
Step 4: Add Doors and Windows. Input the number of doors and windows. The calculator automatically subtracts their area (standard door: 20 sq ft, window: 15 sq ft) from the total.
Step 5: Select Number of Coats. Choose 1, 2, or 3 coats. Two coats are recommended for most projects.
Step 6: Set Paint Coverage Enter your paint's coverage rate (default: 350 sq ft per gallon). Check your paint can for the exact coverage rate, as it varies by brand and finish.
Step 7: Calculate. Click "Calculate" to see your results, including total area, exact gallons needed, rounded-up gallons, and quarts as an alternative.
Clear Button Use the Clear button to reset all fields and start a new calculation.
